Weather Patterns
What is Weather?
Weather is what the sky and air are like outside, right where you are. It can change every day and includes things like sunshine, rain, wind, and temperature.
Common Weather Patterns
- Sunny: Bright and warm with no clouds.
- Rainy: Water falls from the clouds.
- Cloudy: The sky is covered with clouds.
- Windy: Air moves quickly and you can see things like trees swaying.
- Snowy: Frozen water falls when it’s very cold.
Why Does Weather Change?
Weather happens because of the sun’s energy, air movement, and water in the air. These things work together to create different weather.
Weather and Us
Weather affects what we wear, how we travel, and even what we eat. Learning about weather helps us stay safe and have fun!
Observing Weather
You can track the weather by looking outside, feeling the air, and listening to weather reports.
Examples
Wearing a raincoat and boots when it's raining.
Flying a kite when it's windy outside.
