I was a non-traditional college student, returning to school in my late-20's. I enrolled in the local junior college because, perhaps, due to ill-spent youth, all I wanted out of high school was out. That is, I did not apply myself. Naturally, I was academically unprepared for a four-year university. Inasmuch, though, I was equally unaware of my capabilities. With the help and commitment of a few truly dedicated educators, inside the first couple semesters, I was caught off guard to realize that math was something I could do, and do rather well as well as actually enjoyed! Long-story short (after switching majors a half-dozen times), I ended up majoring in Mathematics (and later in Adult Education). After 5 years or so--driving trucks at night and attending classes by day--I graduated with honors GPA and went to work as the Math Program Coordinator/Adjunct Developmental Math Instructor at the same junior college and same team of educators who had helped me find my way, so I could strive to return the favor by helping as many other students navigate paths similar to the one I had years prior; and I did so, loyally, for four years, leaving only to start my own business.
Case in point, I know too well what a lot of students, particularly--although, certainly not limited to--nontraditional adult learners, risk and/or must often sacrifice in order to move up--I've walked the walk. Bottom line, if you're reading this, you've already proven to me you can do it; you just gotta prove it to yourself. I'll do all I can to help you do precisely that.
Thank you
