Leah

Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Global Studies. I am passionate about helping students discover their abilities to learn and improve, even in areas they may have thought they weren't particularly interested in or good at. I enjoy tutoring many subjects in the social sciences such as U.S. and World History, Psychology, and Political Science, as well as test prep for ACT and SAT. My favorite part of tutoring is watching students make breakthroughs in areas that previously were a struggle. My teaching style is very student-oriented and participatory, allowing the student to direct where they would like to see progress and ensuring that the process is as engaging and interesting as possible while also providing structure and clear expectations. Outside of academia, my interests include hiking and camping, traveling, gardening, cooking, and playing tennis.
