My teaching philosophy is student-centered and encourages student writers to focus on what makes their writing unique to them. Working one-on-one with students, we search for the "why" in writing assignments and try to understand the purpose of instruction, both in and out of school. This understanding improves comprehension skills and overall writing habits.

Cooking, crafting (crochet, paper crafts, embroidery, drawing, etc.), journaling, reading, watching Jeopardy, going down YouTube rabbit holes, visiting local coffee shops, attending events at my local library, hanging out with my cat and loved ones, and more.
