I've got over 5 years of experience now as a full-time professional tutor, and I've worked with students from a variety of cultures and academic backgrounds, including the US, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico. I've been lucky enough to teach and travel in all those countries as well, having lived in Shanghai for 3 years and going on 2 in Mexico City now. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when I can take a passage or sentence structure or concept that seems like complete gibberish at first to my students and have them explain the concept back to me by the end of class. That flash of insight, that ohhh I get it! moment is why I continue to seek out new students who want to learn and improve so that I can share my expertise and knowledge of these exams with them. Having graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA in English and a BS in Psychology, I'm naturally curious about what makes us tick and how we find ways to relate to one another, even with seemingly insurmountable barriers between us. I'm also an avid learner in my spare time and an unabashed Jeopardy nerd who is always willing to fall down a Wikipedia hole if a topic strikes my interest.
