Over the course of my studies, I have taught more than 25 college-level courses to students with a wide variety of backgrounds in a number of subjects. This means that I have written exams, graded exams, published papers, presented papers, and designed entire curricula. My methods are informed by my research background in the problem-solving literature, my familiarity with recent developments in cognitive sociology, and my training as an expert chess player and coach. Using these methods, I have assisted hundreds of students improve their writing and critical thinking skills. But, those achievements are not as important as what I can do to help you. I am here is because I am passionate about helping students with their communication and problem-solving skills because I know that improving these basic aspects of our own thinking has profound consequences for how we relate to others and understand the world around us. In other words, my passion is to give you the guidance needed to help you develop expertise.
