I have obtained my B.S. Degree in Human Development and Family Studies, M.A.T. in Special Education, and Ed.S. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia. My studies fueled my passion for primary education, where I taught preschool through 1st grade for seven years. My teaching experiences led me to create children's books that support communication, character development, and social-emotional learning. Social-emotional learning and character development should be fun and engaging to transcend the home and school environment. I created the Character Kids book series and the nonprofit organization Character Kid based on this belief. Since 2009, I have served as a youth mentor, primary educator, grade level lead, tutor, and dance coach. As an adolescent, I was a part of stepping, dance, cheerleading, band, gymnastics, science olympiad, chorus, and basketball. Those adolescent experiences pushed me to Co-Found Class Act Detroit: a youth organization focused on equity and access to high-quality after-school programs. I desire to challenge students to tap into their academic and creative aptitude to develop who they choose to be.

I enjoy dance fitness, writing children's books, video games, creating my own beauty products and taking naps.
