About Me
I am a rising junior at Columbia University and am working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (with a focus in International Politics and American Politics) and History. For the past several years, I have volunteered as an English as a second language (ESL) tutor for adult immigrants, assisted high school students with college essay supplements, and most recently tutored Spanish, History, and English to underprivileged Latinx students in the Bronx. Regarding essay writing, I enjoy raising questions about texts, analyzing themes, and assessing authors' decisions whether that be sentence structure, character development, or plot twists. My teaching philosophy revolves around listening, patience, creating opportunities for students to ask questions, and sharing my own experiences related to academia with students. I am most eager to help students on this platform because I desire to work with students one-on-one and serve as a catalyst for their personal growth and achievement of their goals. In my free time, I enjoy reading biographies and international relations pieces, watching and playing sports with friends, trying out new cuisines in New York City, and traveling.
