Following undergrad I obtained my certification in clinical microbiology from Saint Louis University. I worked at Quest Diagnostics for 4.5 years and while at Quest I obtained my Master's degree in Public Health with a Concentration in Biosecurity and Disaster Preparedness. While I was in school I spent four summers as a camp counselor. Additionally, I have experience teaching seminars with adult student and my peers. I am currently a full time infection preventionist at a hospital. which is a job that requires an education focused mindset as I am always teaching best practice and reminding practitioners of their duties to protect patients from infection. It may come as no surprise that my ideal subject to teach is biology or microbiology as they are both my passions. I've spent many years learning the theory and then putting that theory to practice. My outgoing personality and passion for education is evident when first meeting me. I aim to use these qualities about myself to engage my students and get them excited about learning. Outside of work I enjoy reading fiction books, going to lots of outdoor events, and finding new recipes to make.
