I'm a history fanatic, and I've been reading history books for fun since I was four years old.
I graduated with a B.A. in history from Columbia in 2004, with a focus in Nigeria.

About Me

I specialize in learning how to write a history (or English) term paper, how to prepare for a history (or English) test, and how to read long dense history (or English) documents and understand them. My goal as a tutor is to make myself obsolete. My students will learn history facts, but they will also learn general patterns of how to write a paper, or how historical events work. Eventually my students will no longer need me.

My philosophy is that, in a tutoring session, my student should do most of the talking. So most of my tutoring consists of asking the student questions and keeping them actively involved. If I keep asking questions, I can tell if my student truly understands the material. Giving a lecture doesn't do that.
