It wasn't always easy but making a serious effort and spending quality time on my academic work, often with someone who understood better than I did, made me a better student. It also made me more successful in my life and in my career. For more than 20 years I have tutored, counseled and mentored middle school and high school students and I enjoy spending time with them. In many ways, they have tutored, counseled and mentored me as well. My formal, post-secondary education came from the US Naval Academy, Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh in the fields of English, Math, Counseling, Psychology and Administration. I learned a lot about myself and about life from these educational experiences. No one can ever take away from you what you truly know and understand. Everyone can learn. Among my many interests are sports, fitness, all aspects of music, theater, concerts, movies and gardening.
