I am a graduate of Florida Atlantic University where I earned a degree in Secondary English Education with a certification in English (6-12) with ESOL Endorsement (FL). Since graduating, I have taught Language Arts in South Florida at the middle school level to students of varied learning needs. My approach to teaching and tutoring is to guide students toward discovery and passion for learning by giving them support and encouragement that allows them to feel confident in their pursuit of knowledge. Although I enjoy tutoring all things Language Arts, I most enjoy helping students with their reading comprehension and writing skills. Once a love and understanding of reading is developed, learning seems to become second nature. Writing is also a key component to academic success, as it allows a student to confidently express his/her thoughts and ideas. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking vegetarian cuisine, taking my dog to the park, and of course, reading!
