Having taught in a variety of settings and worked with diverse populations such as incarcerated inmates, international adults and ivy league undergraduates, I have come to understand first hand that every student learns in his or her own unique way. It is through this student-centered learning that I encourage the student to express themselves and to find meaning in the work. My background in English writing and education, and first hand as an undergraduate professor of Critical Writing, allows me to push my students to work hard on the subject at hand. I believe that all students are capable of writing well and performing well on the SAT, and my job is to coach and steer the student in the right direction.
