If any of those questions sound familiar, I may be the person that can help you out! I hold a bachelor's degree in Biology, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, with expertise in Physiology. However, I'm not just a run-of-the mill scientist! My real passion is teaching, and I have been teaching both high school and college students since 1997! I was licensed in high school biology in Massachusetts, and during graduate school, I participated in a variety of teaching opportunities with students in the Atlanta Public School System and in Fulton County Schools. As a teacher, my goal is to engage students and show them how even the most minute details in the material they are studying are relevant to their own personal lives. Instead of remaining bogged down in the small details (which are important!), I strive to always show my students the big picture so that they are able to understand, integrate, and apply what they are learning to new problem-solving situations. Additionally, I am available to help you improve your writing skills, regardless of the subject matter. I have extensive experience working with students who are trying to improve their science writing but I also have a background in English and Education which means that I have written outside of the Science disciplines as well. I love helping students improve with each writing assignment they may have and will provide extremely thorough feedback to help facilitate these improvements!
