FIRSTS!!!
As the new republic was striving to emerge from its freedom over
Great Britain, its Founders were busy creating structures necessary
for its survival.
A monetary system had to be set in place, hence the rules and regulations
for the first U.S. Copper Penny.
In time of war men had to serve their country as soldiers, thus the first
National Conscription Act defined that obligation.
It was appropriate for the President to hold a formal talk with members of the
country's leaders, which led to the first State of The Union Address.
These building blocks were set in place to strengthen the infant nation.
