Certified Tutor

My teaching experience dates back to the beginning of college, where I embarked on my career in Education. I became involved with an organization called Jumpstart, dedicated to promoting literacy in America. In this role, I engaged in reading, created stimulating activities, and delivered academic lessons to a preschool class twice a week. Expanding my expertise in Education, I became an afterschool teacher for grades TK-6th grade. In this role I created engaging lessons on dramatic play, kinesthetic, English, Math and Science.

When I graduated college, I took on a position at Great Oaks Charter School, a high school serving an underserved community in Bridgeport, CT. Initially, I worked as an in-classroom tutor for two years. Tutoring 12th and 9th graders in English, Rap As Literature, Essay writing, Resume/ Cover Letter Writing, Poem writing, 9th grade English and Algebra 1. During my third year at the school, I transitioned to the role of Special Education Interventionist. In this role, I was really able to break down the material for students in the way they understood. I also was able to help them in Geometry and look forward to helping you all in math :) My students always said I was able to help them understand any math that came their way.

My tenure in education has equipped me with a diverse set of teaching skills that I am eager to apply in our sessions :)
