I am an accomplished scholar, who has earned several academic degrees -- Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling, Master of Science in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Divinity, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I have mastered the Trivium -- or grammar, rhetoric, and logic. I can teach history, philosophy, theology, psychology, and academic writing, whether it is writing a high school essay, a college research paper, a master's thesis, or a doctoral dissertation. Also, I am certified to teach English as a second language (ESL). I am an excellent grammarian, who has a working knowledge of English grammar, Greek grammar, and Latin grammar. Finally, I am critically conversant in the Western Canon of Literature, per the "Great Books" curriculum, as designed by Dr. Mortimer J. Adler (1902-2001).

Furthermore, I am a retired military officer, a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC), and certified trauma treatment specialist (CTTS). As a counselor, I specialize in crisis intervention, trauma pastoral care, critical incident stress management (CISM), and mass casualty (MASCAL) response. For 20 years, I worked as a crisis counselor in an emergency room context. Three times, I deployed in support of combat operations, where I counseled more than 1,000 battle casualties, which included American military, coalition warfighters; and terrorist insurgents or enemy prisoners of war (EPOWs).

I have more than 100,000 hours of clinical experience responding to traumatic events, such as terminal illness, industrial accidents, gunshot wounds; blast injuries; line of duty deaths (police officers, firefighters, U.S. military); morgue viewings; and other mortuary duties that involve the dignified transfer of human remains.

Finally, I host a psychoeducation seminar on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), where licensed caregivers (i.e. doctors and nurses, clergy and clinical psychologists, social workers and police officers) can earn continuing education units (CEUs).
