I love the teaching and learning process because I am passionate about sharing knowledge. My philosophy of education is that I teach how to learn rather than just what to learn. Teaching for life rather than short term memory enhances ones quality of living. I have taught children from PreK-4 to high school reading, study skills, and English to elementary gifted students. I have the most fun tutoring elementary language arts because I love children's literature and imaginative writing. My Bachelor of Science degree was in elementary education at the University of Tennessee. My Masters in Education Administration was at the University of Memphis. Outside of teaching I have many interests such as reading, sports, sewing, gardening, art, Bible study, and flying.
Undergraduate Degree: UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT KNOXVILLE - Bachelor of Science, Elementary School Teaching
Graduate Degree: University of Memphis - Masters in Education, Educational Administration
My interests are in politics, aviation, world events, children and adult literature, and Bible literacy. I have been active in political campaigns, advocating for candidates, and canvassing door to door. I love discussing what is happening around the world in governments and social movements. Children's books fascinate me in the lessons they teach while adult literature has many stories of family, war, romance, history, and themes that teach understanding of life. The greatest literature is that of scripture where it tells of God's relationship to ancient and modern mankind. My hobbies are too many to list, but I spend most time with reading, gardening, sports, art and crafts, and used to fly. I have several pilot licenses and many hours of flight time. It gives me a chance to travel and have adventure.
