Some people discover their passion early in life, while others require more time. I belong to the second group. My passion for helping young people discover their passions, sparked and sputtered in my early years, but finally, burst into a strong, steady flame when I returned to teaching in my mid-forties. I spent many fulfilling years teaching English Language Arts, in a public high school. Witnessing the joy in the faces of graduating high school seniors as they crossed the stage and tossed their caps in the air, was one of the many rewarding aspects of my job. Despite these joys, there were frustrations. Seeing bright students fall through the educational cracks, because of weak reading and writing skills, combined with challenging life circumstances, always broke my heart.
I began my tutoring career to better help struggling readers and writers succeed. I worked in the writing labs in local community colleges and taught writing to low scoring native and non-native English speaking students from 20 countries around the world. I discovered that these students benefited from an individualized, structured writing experience.
I would love to help you with your reading and writing issues!!!
My passion for my students still burns strongly!

I enjoy the many outdoor activities available in beautiful Northwest Arkansas. Walking the hiking trails, swimming in the clear lakes, and shopping at local craft fairs and farmers' markets are some activities that I engage in all year round.
