I received my Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Skidmore College. Since graduation, I have worked as a research technician in Boston and I will be starting medical school in the Fall. Over the years, I have tutored students in Ethiopia, Swaziland, and here in the United States. In college, I was selected to serve as a general chemistry peer tutor in one-on-one and group tutoring sessions. This experience reaffirmed my passion for teaching and mentorship. I am currently serving as an AmeriCorps literacy coach at one of the public schools in Boston. I decided to volunteer as a literacy coach after learning about the disproportionate impact COVID-19 has had on the educational attainment of disadvantaged children. My teaching experience has taught me the importance of establishing a caring relationship to build an environment that improves students' motivation and learning outcomes. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Chemistry. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, exploring new cuisines, and binge watching TV shows.
