I am currently a Graduate Student pursuing a MA in History! My Graduate area of focus is early Modern Europe. My Undergraduate areas of focus were both American and European History. I have experience both taking all History AP Exams offered as well as tutoring them alongside AP Government and Politics.
I have a passion for history since my AP Human Geography course my freshman year of high school, it threw me into both the academic and independent pursuit of historical knowledge. I am a regular volunteer for the Indiana Historical Society and judge for National History Day. It wasn't until my senior year in high school where I discovered my love of political science when I signed up to be part of the academic team, We The People. The ability to understand, interpret, and apply the U.S. Constitution led me into the field of political science, where I volunteered with local politicians in grassroots campaigns to both practice my civic duty and to help others do something that our ancestors fought tooth and nail for--participation in government by voting!
I will use my passion, experience, and knowledge to create a learning environment that strives for understanding rather than blanket memorization.
Education & Certification
Undergraduate Degree: Indiana University-Purdue University-Indianapolis - Bachelor in Arts, History
I love to read! My favorite book is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, I try to read at least one book every two weeks. I am currently reading Mozart: A Life by Maynard Solomon. I also love doing Trivia, I used to participate in trivia regularly, however because of Corona I just habitually watch Jeopardy to keep my hobby sharp! Alongside trivia and reading, I really enjoy playing video games on my PC. My favorite single-player game is Ori and the Blind Forest while my favorite multiplayer game is Team Fortress 2. I also really enjoy playing Rocket League but truthfully I am not very good.
