Assisting people one-on-one with the development of their learning process has been singularly rewarding for me. I enjoy finding out about people's passions and motivations and trying to relate academic material to those interests. You'd be surprised how broadly applicable skills that seem narrow in scope can be. Learning in itself and trust in your ability to overcome challenges are some of the more valuable skills you can attain. With this in mind, I approach teaching and tutoring in a student centered and interdisciplinary fashion.
I have close to 10 years experience working in public schools, in home, and in a college writing center. I have helped children as young as 4 and adults as old as 60 achieve their goals, whether those goals are very specific, like getting a good score on the ACT, or more broad, like finishing their college degree. I have specialized in college applications, writing, and executive skills and I have worked with children and adults with physical, emotional, and intellectual disabilities in home and in school.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in education and media production and I am currently applying to law school. I'm in this work to help people out and to learn and develop as a learner myself along the way. Let's do this!
