This year I graduated summa cum laude from Hillsdale College with a B.S. in chemistry and a minor in mathematics. This fall I will be joining the chemistry PhD program at Cornell University. I have been tutoring in math, science, and standardized test prep for elementary through college aged students since my junior year of high school. Becoming a life long learner is so important, so I love to tie concepts on paper to real life examples, putting class work into context. During college I worked as a teaching assistant for introductory and organic chemistry. One of the most key aspects of being a good tutor is to be able to approach the same problem from many different angles. Since each student has a unique learning style, I work on tailoring my teaching style to find the way that makes the concept clearest to each student.

I have played classical harp for 11 years, and it is my favorite creative outlet and an amazing form of stress relief for me. I also love recreational rock climbing and have been known to challenge anyone who's willing to a game of ping pong.
