The best teacher is a good learner. I have a strong history of excellence as a student and as a teacher. After hours of studying, I earned the National Merit Scholar Finalist award in 2011. I went on to earn a 3.93 GPA at Baylor University in the Honors Program. I love to learn and desired to share the gift of learning with others, so I pursued teaching at a classical charter school in Texas where I taught 5th grade.
My strengths as a teacher are solid understanding and joy in all areas of content, but especially Latin, number sense, Grammar, and Reading/Literature analysis and creativity in discovering ways to guide my students to deeper understanding of content. I've used puppets for Latin, created songs for difficult memorization, and had students act out a bowling ball scenario to teach indirect and direct objects!
I love to bake, to memorize poetry, and to see the look of joy on a student's face when he or she has grasped a difficult concept. I look forward to meeting you!
