I'm an alumna from the University of Pennsylvania! I obtained my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and minored in Mathematics. I have a heavy STEM background because prior to Psychology I was actually a Chemistry major and pre-med. College is a growing experience. You realize what you don't like and discover new passions. From switching career fields during my undergrad years, I discovered that I'm interested in pediatrics physical therapy!! I'm working towards becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
In terms of tutoring in college, I've been an "official" Calculus 1 tutor for roughly 3 years and "unofficial" for 1 year (I helped tutor my friends freshmen year). I had the opportunity of placing out of taking Calculus 1 and 2 in college, due to my AP exam scores. However, I love Calculus 1 so much that I always jump to the opportunity to help friends/students in this course.
Besides Calculus 1, I can tutor in a variety of different math courses that fall below Calculus 1, such as Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, etc.
As a tutor, it is my goal to help you understand concepts better. If you don't understand it the first way I present the information, I break concepts down and present it in a different way, sometimes multiple ways, until you understand the concept. My job is complete when the light bulb in your head turns on and a smile forms on your face because you have finally grasped that difficult concept that was challenging you.
Outside of tutoring, I love working with children, Netflix-ing, and enjoying quality time around family and friends.
