I tutor because I enjoy seeing my students excel in subjects they have previously struggled with. I have found that more rewarding than gaining knowledge and earning good grade myself is to help others do so. I love my field of study (Computer Science/Cyber Security) and still practice it in both my current job as a cryptologist and in my free time, and tutoring is one avenue I use to keep up my programming skills.
I started tutoring as a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy as part of a student-run group study program, where I tutored my peers in computer programming, networks, and cyber security which lead to vast improvements in my students' grades. After graduation, I moved to tutoring a local high school teacher so that he could effectively teach a new cyber security class offered at the school. I visited the class a few times in person to give guest lectures. I then went on to graduate school at the Naval Postgraduate School where I continued to tutor while I earned my masters in Computer Science. While at the Naval Postgraduate School, I travelled to Europe numerous times to assist the US Department of Defense instructors in teaching a class to NATO officers on cyber security.
I am a cyber security professional both in industry and in academics. If you want to not just improve your grades, but actually understand the subject matter, then I am the tutor for you. Look forward to hearing from you.
