I graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. For the last 5 years I've worked as a caregiver for adults with developmental disabilities, spending most of that time living in community with those I cared for. During this time I have continued to study math and work on programming projects, and I was accepted into Oregon State University's PhD program in Mathematics for Fall of 2019. In the process of studying and preparing for graduate school I discovered a lot of great technology related to math education. I enjoy sharing math with other people and showing them tools that can empower their learning process. Being a caregiver put me in touch with many unique styles of communication and learning, and it is my goal to tailor tutoring sessions to the needs of those I work with.
In my free time I enjoy playing piano, hiking around the city of Portland and studying machine learning. Creating technology, building relationships and helping people grow are the pillars that uphold meaning in my life.
