Being able to help others has always given me great joy :) I am currently working as a Civil Engineer, focusing on road and site design. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University. Math was foundational during my undergraduate studies, and grasping those basic math concepts helped me pursue my goal of becoming a civil engineer. Throughout school, my tutoring experience came with helping people one-on-one with homework. I try to find different ways to explain concepts that were taught in class to help them understand. The part that makes me the happiest is when that person has that moment of sudden revelation and whatever they are trying to learn makes sense to them. Being able to see that person teach that concept properly to someone else shows that they understand what they learned and that I was able to help them reach that point. When I am not working on engineering related projects, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and playing the piano. I played piano on and off throughout elementary school, and started playing it full time in high school. In the past several years, I have become proficient in playing music by ear, and have tutored middle school and high school kids on the theory behind it and how to recognize patterns in common songs. My goal is to instill perseverance in figuring out the problems and seeing that person help others with resolving those same concepts.
