I grew up milking cows on a dairy farm in central PA. I attended Penn State University where I received degrees in Music Ed and Elementary Ed (K-8). After teaching band and chorus for a few years, I moved to Nashville, TN where I worked in the music industry writing children and youth musicals. At this time, many of my friends from other countries asked me to help them with their English so they could be successful in America. I started classes and before long, I knew that returning to teaching was all I wanted to do. I received my Masters in EL from Trevecca University, taught elementary students for several years, and presently teach Integrated Math 1 to 9th graders in a culturally and ethnically diverse high school. I love finding out how God made each student and giving them tools to become all that they can be. My wife and I enjoy hospitality and provide a safe place in our home for others to discover themselves. Presently, three teenage siblings from Guatemala live with us and attend the school where I teach. My free time is spent working out and enjoying quality time with former students who have become a part of our extended family.
