I am a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Mid-level Math and Science.
Since graduation, I have worked 4 (going on 5) years as a middle and elementary teacher, teaching multiple grades and a diverse range of students as well as levels. Through my years of teaching I am very familiar with prepping for the STAAR test. I am a certified in Math and Science grades 4-8, Core Subjects from EC to 6th grade, ESL and I am looking to add more soon! Math is definitely my subject but I also enjoy science and social studies.
I was an AVID tutor for 4 years while I was in college, tutoring students from intermediate to high school. Being an AVID tutor cemented in me my passion, which was guiding students to their 'ah-ha' moments. Nothing is more rewarding then seeing others succeed especially when you were a helping hand for them. I want my students to be successful but they have to be willing to learn and determined to but in word.
I believe that education is super important in life but also aides in one growing as a person. Being the first in her family to receive a 4-year degree from a university, one principle was instilled in me. That is to work hard and never give up.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading science fiction novels, following along with Marvel/DC series and spending time with my little sister.
