I am a graduate of Reed College, a small, liberal arts college in Portland, Oregon. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a concentration in border fiction and liminal identities. Since graduation, I have worked exclusively in education. I have worked as a freshman English co-teacher in Chicago Public Schools, and I have taught English as a foreign language overseas for several years, as well and am TEFL certified. I taught English in Spain for two years, and, most recently, was an English Language Teacher Trainer with the United States Peace Corps in Ecuador.
I am passionate about providing equal educational opportunities to students of all ages and backgrounds. While I tutor a wide variety of subjects, I particularly enjoy tutoring students in Writing, Analytical Reading, and English as a Foreign Language. My students and I have enjoyed great successes when working to improve these subjects and more.
In my free time, I like to stay active by running, cycling and doing yoga. For more leisurely activities, I enjoy reading, cooking and watching great movies.
