I spent three years as a chemistry graduate student at Columbia, receiving a master's degree in chemistry and serving as a teaching assistant in general chemistry courses, before I found that my real passion was for teaching. Since then I have been a substitute teacher for middle school science and exploring other science teaching and communications opportunities. I was a chemistry and philosophy double major in college and my approach to teaching has always been creative, patient and interdisciplinary.
I am an expert science and math tutor, as well as general test prep and study skills.
