I am an Arizona native, born and raised in Phoenix. I attended Arizona State University where I received a B.S. in Biology. After my B.S. I decided to further my education and attended Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ where I earned a Masters degree in Biomedical Sciences. I also have four years of doctorate training in the biology field. I have a passion for teaching and conducting research in the scientific community. While working in the lab I conducted research using a population genetic approach to study the evolution of the human genome. Although Genetics is one of my passions I also love to teach! I have over twelve years of experience teaching science to K-12 students and I currently teach a number of science courses for multiple online colleges. I love teaching face to face as well as online! The subjects I enjoy tutoring the most are biology (all grade levels), environmental science, anatomy and physiology, microbiology and genetics. I am also qualified to tutor for many more science related subject areas. As an educator/tutor I always strive to accomplish three main goals. I hope that I will succeed in significantly contributing to improving science education by serving as a positive role model to my students, successfully conveying the information they need to succeed in class, and giving my students the confidence they need to strive for excellence in every aspect of their lives. When I am not busy with my research or teaching, I love to spend time with my Husband and two young children. I enjoy reading, cleaning, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
