I'm a certified K-12 French teacher with six years of teaching experience, from beginner to advanced levels. I've also tutored students individually.
My passion for the French language started at an early age. While in the fifth grade, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in an exchange program; studying French with a group of classmates after school, exchanging letters with a French pen pal, and eventually the experience culminated in a visit to my French friend. It was an amazing experience for a young kid! I fell in love with the French language and culture and continued my study through high school and college.
I've visited France five times and never tire of strolling the streets of Montmartre, enjoying a tarte aux fraises, or simply being immersed in the French language and culture. I also completed a "sejour" in Caen, Normandy as part of a study abroad program in college.
I have worked for the past five years in student support, first as a middle and high school counselor, and currently as an academic advisor at UT Austin.
Undergraduate Degree: University of North Texas - Bachelor in Arts, French
Graduate Degree: Tarleton State University - Masters in Education, Counseling Psychology
In addition to my passion for education and learning, I enjoy linguistics and travel. I also love to practice yoga, read classic novels, and am currently learning to play piano, which is a fun challenge!
