I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I attended Prairie View A&M University where I received a BS in Mathematics and M.Ed in Math Education. I also attended St. Mary's University where I received a JD and MS in Computer Science. I have been teaching for over 25 years, and I love it. I have worked at Prairie View A&M University, North Harris/Montgomery Community College (currently Lone Star Community College) and University of Houston-Downtown here in the Houston area and Saint Philip's College in San Antonio. I currently teach at San Jacinto College since 2001, and it has been a very rewarding experience. I have taught all developmental classes, the AIM accelerated class, and several of the upper level academic classes. My favorite class is Algebra. Solving and working algebra problems is like working puzzles for me. You use logic to piece information together and come up with the answer.
I have a beautiful family which includes one child, a son who is pretty active in sports. Most of my free time is spent at his sporting events.
I enjoy reading, swimming and travelling. I am always interested in learning about new people and cultures. I am also interested in photography. I do not know much about it now, but this is an area I want to learn about in the near future.
I would like to create an environment where students will feel comfortable learning about new information and asking questions when they need help.
Please feel free to ask questions and seek assistance when you need it. That is what I am here for. Remember, no one knows you need help unless you ask. Please feel free to do so.
I look forward to meeting and working with you all at some point.
