STEM education is a passion of mine. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. While I was an undergraduate, I worked as a tutor for the university for 3 years. I tutored Chemistry, all math subjects ranging from College Algebra to Calculus II, and Engineering Physics. Calculus and Physics were my favorites! I loved helping college students on their way to becoming STEM professionals. Because Spanish was my minor and I have studied the language for 10 years, I tutored Spanish at OU as well.
After graduating, I began teaching math at a college preparatory in Oklahoma City. I am certified by the state to teach math for grades 5-12. Engaging my 7th grade students in engineering activities was the best part of working with middle school students. I believe in explaining how math skills apply to the sciences to help students answer the question "When will I ever use this?"
In my free time, I enjoy mystery novels, baking, brunch with good friends, and church activities. I am excited to begin working with you!
