Although my academic background is in the sciences, I have tutored students in a range of subjects including anatomy and physiology, high school English, SAT prep, and algebra. In my years as a tutor in the MA public school system and at UMass Amherst, I have worked with both high school and college-aged students. As a camp counselor and neuroscience researcher, I have worked with infants and children from 2 months to 13 years of age.
I take the time to help my students find the best learning style for them and tailor my teaching approach accordingly. I work to find creative ways to help students understand tough concepts. My goal is to foster critical and abstract thinking, time management skills, and problem-solving skills in my students so as to help them become independent learners and reach their academic goals.
