I grew up always wanting to teach math and I earned my undergraduate degree in Mathematics, at Piedmont College where I tutored students and student-athletes in math, when I worked for the Office of Academic Support for 2 years. I later moved to Kennesaw State University and earned a Master's degree in the Art of Teaching: Secondary Mathematics. At KSU, I worked in Student Athlete Success Services and again tutored student-athletes in various math courses as a graduate assistant.
For the first 6 years of my career, I taught math at my former school : Gilmer High School, in Ellijay, Georgia. I have taught grades 9-11 in various math courses (both in the GPS and CCGPS curriculum). I taught Special Ed Math Inclusion classes with Special Ed co-teachers for 2 years in grade 9 and 11. Later, I relocated to teach 8th grade at Marietta Middle School for 2 years. Without any purchasing of text books during my career, I have formatted hundreds of teaching resources myself. I strived to plan lessons that will engage all students and promote learning and discovery.
