Just like everybody else who’s gone through some formal education, I’ve had my fair share of courses that have elevated my blood pressure to inordinate levels. Either because of a piece of homework or the class itself just didn’t “click,” I have found myself banging my head against the metaphorical wall more than once. The best solution I found in these situations was to seek help, which is the reason why I am here with Varsity Tutors.
As a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Denison University, I have found a deep passion for the sciences. During my undergraduate career I have studied for courses within my major (such as Genetics and Diversity of Microorganisms) and in the pre-med track (such as physics and general chemistry). I have been able to share this passion with other students as a Teaching Assistant and as a drop-in tutor for the Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish departments. I have found great pleasure in not only helping them understand the subject but also in forming personal connections with them, making the tutoring process more enjoyable for everybody involved.
I look to tutor students taking biology courses at a high school or college level and to those who are prepping for the MCAT (Biology/Biochem section). I can also offer some assistance in other science courses such as physics and general chemistry. My objective is for you to leave each session feeling like it was productive and with that same excitement I feel when learning about these topics.
