I earned my B.S. in Earth & Environmental Sciences and my B.A. in History from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. I have also completed 4 years of doctorate work at Rice University, with my research in the area of planetary geophysics (the internal processes of other planets!). I have worked with students ages 5-22 in several different capacities, including The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, Huntington Learning Center, and as a teaching assistant at both Susquehanna and Rice Universities. I have also taught 12th-grade math and high school physics. I tutor primarily math (through calculus) and sciences (physics, Earth sciences, etc.). My teaching philosophy is that every student is capable of learning every subject. The methods, amount of work and time, and difficult will certainly differ, but with patience and perseverance, we can attain understanding together.
Outside of academia, I am a runner, triathlete, and weightlifter, as well as an avid reader.
I work in education because I believe my greatest gifts are in loving others and helping them reach their potential. Im excited for the opportunity to help more learners along their education journeys!
