I grew up in a Spanish speaking home and was fortunate to have parents who took the time to teach me proper Spanish reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking skills. I learned English as a second language in elementary school. In High School I took A.P. classes to solidify my Spanish writing/reading abilities. I currently work as an interpreter English/Spanish with children/families and therapists. This has helped me separate both languages fully and understand that when it comes to a new language it requires patience, repetition, and practice. It is very important to have someone to practice with that can help and guide you in order to understand the language better. As a tutor I can help understand and reach the next level by providing examples that people can relate to. More than anything, I feel that it is important to have someone who is approachable and who you feel comfortable with.
