I recently obtained my Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Shortly after graduation, I accepted a year-long tutoring job with a high school Senior at a preparatory school in Albuquerque. I provided this student with regular instruction in International Baccalaureate level Biology, which is a rigorous curriculum similar to that of the more commonly known Advanced Placement curriculum.
Around the same time, I also worked as a long term Substitute Teacher for Albuquerque Public Schools. During this time, I came to appreciate a wide array of learning styles and teaching techniques. Part of what makes me an excellent Tutor is my understanding of the fact that every student learns differently and that one must be patient while determining the best way to help a struggling student understand a difficult concept.
While I am most passionate about Biology, I also tutor Middle School Math and Algebra. I hope to add more subjects as the school year progresses because I love helping students learn, regardless of the topic.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing strategic online and console based games. I spend most of my time researching and staying well informed about world news and politics.
