I graduated from San Diego Mesa College with an Associate Degree in High Honors Biology. I am currently attending the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and I will receive my Bachelor of Science degree with a major in General Biology in 2015. Since I have a strong knowledge in Math and Science, I was able to help my community students in those subjects. Also, since I speak two fluent languages, I was able to tutor English as a Second Language (ESL) for immigrant students who needed help. I was always interested and curious about how our body works and what goes on inside our body. Therefore, I decided to major in Biology, and it has been one of my favorite subjects to tutor. The way I study is to understand what I am studying, so I can memorize it better. Therefore, my tutoring style would be to explain the subject and make it easier to understand, then it will be easier to memorize and apply to different questions. Also, I can manipulate the tutoring style with the need of the students. For example, I can provide diagrams and figures to explain a subject if the student will learn more visually. At the same time, I like to have fun and relax, and I do that by cooking sometimes and trying new things in the kitchen to make the best food.
