How can a Trigonometry tutor help you?

Trigonometry can be quite an interesting subject to understand, as it deals with angular distance, triangles, law of tangents, and the Pythagorean theorem. Sound familiar? For some people, it may be easy. For others, there may be some difficulty grasping its theories and intricacies. Trigonometry is found all throughout geometry, and it contains complex relationships to other branches of mathematics. You are bound to hear keywords like hypotenuse, supplementary angles, and cosecant, secant, and exsecant; these terminologies may simply confuse you. Trigonometry Tutoring review by Michael in Waltham, MA
I went further into ratios and proportions with the student today. She also had homework that we reviewed and worked on regarding Rational, Irrational, and Real numbers, as well as their opposites. We also began to talk about the concepts of imaginary numbers, infinity, as well as the difference in an infinite number of decimal places in a number.

Today we started with the student's homework packet, which included working with numbers up to the millionth's place as well as converting simple fractions to decimals. We reviewed his vocabulary words and had him write sentences for each word after explaining the definition. We completed the lesson by reading the 3rd chapter of his book.

We went over her homework on finding the GCF and LCM. She had trouble with the algorithm when she had to take more than one step, but we corrected the problem. We then worked on word problems.

The student is doing really well with his mental math. He's able to add and subtract three digits in his head fairly quickly and accurately. He stayed on task today and got some great stuff done. He also quickly understood how to divide and deal with a remainder.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Alex in Waltham, MA
The students each worked through math work today from computer sources. They didn't have much homework this week. Both were quick to memorize algorithms and worked well throughout their respective hour sessions. They should bring their class notes next time so we can focus on effective note-taking strategies, and to simply evaluate their class time value.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Eric in Waltham, MA
Today's session with the student went really well. We spent our time practicing trig problems, and we also worked on the law of sine and cosine. We found a few problems with his lower levels of math, and I helped him to understand and fix them. By the end of the session, he was able to solve the problems that we were working on. He had a great attitude, like always. I left him with practice problems on what we covered today from his book. I consider this session a big win. It took very little practice in order for him to remember everything that we went over two weeks ago. I think that he will be able to complete the trig he needs to know very soon. For our next session, he will be taking a practice exam to see what he has really learned.
