Trigonometry Tutoring review by Benjamin in Sandy Springs, GA
The student and I worked on math today. He is working on patterns in math sequences and determining which numbers come next in a sequence and the rules of the pattern. We will continue in the future to work on math skills that he brings home from school. He is a very strong math student!

The student has her unit 12 test tomorrow 3/27. She had a practice exam that we downloaded and worked through every problem. Problem types included Pythagorean theorem, percent change, histograms, pie charts, scatterplots, IRT formula, volume and surface area. We worked through about 40 problems in detail. She knows her stuff and she seems to get it.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Tiffany in Sandy Springs, GA
The session began with the student completing addition and subtraction math drills. He had to complete 64 addition number expressions in 3 minutes. He also had to complete 64 subtraction number expressions in 3 minutes. He was able to complete some of the number expressions. When asked to complete both addition and subtraction number expressions without a timer, he had a higher accuracy level. Once we finished math, he and I read a book focusing on fluency and contractions. I left extra practice math worksheets for him.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Jennifer in Sandy Springs, GA
The student completed her homework before I got there, and marked the questions that she needed help with. She did well with this homework, and answered most of them correctly. The homework involved mostly decimals, and some probability. I showed her action plan, and we worked on some of the topics in it. In particular, we worked on translating a shape, prime factorization, expanding exponents, geometry definitions (ray, line segment, obtuse and acute angles) perimeter, area, and volume.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Kristyn in Sandy Springs, GA
Today's session consisted of the first part of week 5 topics. Some of this material is brand new to the student, and some material is review. We started with basic arithmetic and geometric sequence and series. We talked about how to find equations that represent both types of series and how to sum the equations. These topics were mostly review, and he was able to pick up quickly the method for creating equations for these sequences. The next portion of our session was about infinite series and sequence, divergence vs convergence, and the role limits plan in finding convergence. We also discussed a few specialized sequences such as Fibonacci. The final topics for today's session were sigma notation and the binomial theorem. Overall, he did well with this material.
