Session Summaries by Trigonometry Tutors

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Alexi in Gilbert, AZ
The student and I began the review for his final exam. We largely focused on the more recent chapters, series and vectors, where he is still less than confident. He is strong in many of the earlier chapters involving polar coordinates, conic equations, trigonometric functions, etc. and is strong in the application of vector principles. We focused on helping understand why vectors function as they do (particularly force vectors). He seems much more confident in his knowledge of vectors, and I can tell that he will continue to diligently work on vectors until he has a complete understanding. I would like to focus more on reviewing previous chapters next week and bringing old knowledge to the forefront of his thoughts before the final.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Catie in Gilbert, AZ
Today the student and I worked mainly on two step word problems. We realized that this is a topic that definitely needs some work. We also reviewed what we had learned before and found out that everything has stuck except for some mixed number and improper fraction material so we will continue to work on those things. I feel very confident that she has already made extreme progress and we have only met three times so far.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Gregory in Gilbert, AZ
For this session the student and I focused on the double-angle formulas for sine, cosine, and tangent. He definitely had the basic mechanics of them down by the end, which was good because he was unfortunately absent for the topic in school. He was able to get through two thirds of his homework assignment, and I imagine he'll be prepared for the vast majority of the questions on his quiz for this lesson.
