About Me

I recently completed a 40 year professional career in corporate accounting and finance and taxation. I have worked as a part time instructor at several universities in South Florida for over 20 years. I teach accounting, taxation and finance courses. During my teaching career, I was named the State of Florida's best accounting and business instructor twice. At the college I'm currently teaching at, I was named faculty of the year for 2024. These teaching awards were voted on by the students. My educational background consists of a bachelor's degree in accounting from UNC-Greensboro, an MBA from Wilmington University, and a Masters degree in accounting from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. My favorite subjects to teach and tutor in are financial accounting, cost accounting, finance, and taxation. What makes my teaching style effective is that I have over 40 years of practical experience in the subjects that I am teaching. Combining this real world experience with my academic background makes me unique. I have accumulated so much knowledge over the decades that I want to share with my students to help them learn the material and be able to apply it to their professional careers. My students have said that I am the best professor they ever had. Students that struggled with accounting with other instructors have excelled in my courses. Feedback from my students says that I am able to take complex accounting principles and explain them in layman's terms which non-accounting majors can understand. I work at your pace and have a lot of patience.
