About Me
After high school I worked as a touring musician and studio session musician (drums, hand percussion, keyboards, and vocals). It was my session experience that got me interested in audio engineering. I read everything I could find on the subject, started buying gear, practiced on myself and my friends, and eventually, in 1998, founded The Odyssey Studio where I work now. My tutoring focus is on recording equipment and recording techniques. I am also a mix engineer, and I can Q&A on mix techniques, plug-ins, etc. My teaching modules come directly from a studio intern teaching course I've developed over the years. I have continued to work with a wide variety of local, national, and international music clients since 1998. PLEASE NOTE: I work almost exclusively in Digital Performer. While my focus for these tutorials is on the hardware and technique side of audio engineering, I can talk about DAWs in general as they all essentially do the same basic things. However, I cannot provide specific instruction on DAWs other than Digital Performer.
