I began teaching Italian in 2010 and German in 2016. It's hard to tell which language I enjoy teaching more, as these are my two favourite languages, and I am equally happy when I can help other people to become proficient in either of them. Besides my degrees and certificates in German and Italian, I also have a PhD in Applied Linguistics. My past education and ongoing research help me to better understand learners' needs and to use the most appropriate teaching methods based on each learner, considering their learning styles, age, personal strengths and difficulties, as well as their linguistic background. Having knowledge of several languages usually allows me to draw parallels between the target language and students' native language(s), which has beneficial effects on learners' metalinguistic awareness, especially when it comes to adult learners.
