The student answered homework questions that dealt with measurement types (nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio), inferential statistics, normal distribution statistics, and interpretation from a provided data set of male and female salaries to address a question about income inequality. Extensive notes were written in the homework assignment, and provided for her. She appears to have a good understanding of the material following our review.

We did an overview of the project to try to get a nice layout of it. We specifically went through each question and worked together to get a good understanding. The student seemed to have a good understanding of each section once we did the overview. He seems to be committed to trying his best, and obviously, he puts in the time and effort.

Statistics Tutoring review by Liban in Sunrise Manor, NV
The student and I began looking at significance testing. We first reviewed how to calculate z from previous sessions. After the review I introduced hypotheses and how to correctly state/ identify them. We practiced with a couple of problems. I then showed him how to conduct the test and how to interpret the results. He first practiced doing the test by hand before using programs to expedite the process. We spent the rest of the session discussing plans for a project on linear regression.

Statistics Tutoring review by Francis in Sunrise Manor, NV
We covered discrete vs. continuous random variables, estimating the mean and standard error, the probability of independent events, and hypothesis testing. The student provided several problems from his textbook that we worked on. He did well in solving the problems after we discussed the underlying concepts. He is taking a quiz today on this material, and I believe he is well prepared.
